Get ready for a heartwarming tale overflowing with compassion and dedication! Today, we meet Kimberly and Bobby, an extraordinary couple residing in Jefferson, Georgia, roughly two hours from Atlanta. Their mission in life? Rescuing and providing loving homes for Beagles and Basset Hounds in need.
A Passion Ignited
Second Chances for Deserving Pups Their journey began with a simple yet profound desire: offering a second chance at life to Beagles and Basset who have faced adversity. Over the years, they've opened their hearts and home to a remarkable 8 Beagles and Basset Hounds, giving each the love, safety, and patience they deserve.
A New Chapter: Healing Two Sisters and a Wise Old Soul
I had the privilege of virtually meeting this remarkable couple (remember, virtual video calls make our sessions possible!) about a year ago. They had just welcomed two sisters, Georgia and Baby, into their loving family. Unfortunately, these sisters had endured a traumatic past. Despite their deep bond, fear and anxiety clung to them, manifesting in behaviors like hiding, accidents indoors, and a hesitancy to connect with their new human companions. Their older brother, Benson, a mellow and wise senior Beagle, also struggled to adjust to the newcomers.
A Journey of Healing Through Virtual Connections
Since our first virtual encounter last March, we've embarked on a beautiful journey of healing together. Through monthly sessions combining animal communication and animal Reiki, we've begun to untangle the knots of their past. These sessions have been insightful. We uncovered the girls' painful experiences, the abuse they suffered, and the deep-seated trauma that haunted them.
During a particularly poignant session, Benson joined the conversation, offering his insights. He found his new sisters to be lively and spirited, perhaps a touch overwhelming. Yet, he also recognized their need for patience and understood their journey to feel secure with Kimberly and Bobby. While love didn't bloom instantly, Benson graciously accepted their presence, knowing they were in the perfect home to mend and be cherished. Each subsequent session uncovered fresh revelations, providing fertile ground for growth and leading them down a gentle, and slow but steady path towards healing.
A Transformation Fueled by Love and Patience
This past Christmas, as the family prepared for a visit out of state, we had a session to reassure the girls that they would come back and in their absence they would be safe. Upon their return, a beautiful transformation unfolded – a testament to the power of love and patience. Georgia and Baby finally felt truly at home, shedding their fears and embracing affection.
Baby found solace nestled close to her human dad, seeking warmth and security in his comforting embrace. Meanwhile, Georgia discovered comfort in the presence of her brother Benson, sharing in his calming aura. Benson, initially resistant due to feeling overheated by his sister's body warmth, eventually found peace near his human mom, all the while playfully guarding his cherished spot from his sister's lively antics.
A Heartfelt Thank You and a Glimpse into the Future
I recently checked in on them, and I'm thrilled to report that the girls have made significant progress in their bathroom habits – a true testament to the couple's unwavering dedication and love.
To Kimberly and Bobby, I extend my deepest gratitude for the love and care you have bestowed upon these beautiful souls. Your selflessness and unwavering commitment to the well-being of these Beagle angels are truly inspiring.
